I've recently wanted to try put sweetfx on my games until I stumbled upon the problem of windows 8, now I'm desperately trying to get radeonpro to work. I can turn sweetfx on and off, and it tells me in the top right but nothing changes. The game is ac unity.

It's old now. SweetFX 2.0 is packaged with ReShade and it has numberous advantages over 1.5 Not to mention 1.5 notoriously doesn't work with windows 8.1, Doesn't work with 64bit games too. It's just old dude. Try out reshade with SweetFX 2.0 and you won't regret it.
