Note: If you are using 32bit version of starbound to launch the game, install the reshade to win32 instead of win64.
Re installation or Uninstallation
It is recommended to remove everything from the past reshade
1)Navigate to Game Directory Steam\SteamApps\common\Starbound\win64 and remove the following files
•opengl32.dll
•(Old Reshade Sweetfx Settings).ini
•opengl32.log
•opengl32.ini
•folder reshade-shaders
2)Proceed to installation instructions
Installation
1)Download Reshade from
https://reshade.me/
2)Download and place preset
"SweetFX_Settings_Starbound_Fantasy.txt" at Game Directory Steam\SteamApps\common\Starbound\win64
3)Launch ReShade Setup and select Starbound.exe at Game Directory
4)Left Click OpenGL and check only these 5 effects:
•AdaptiveSharpen.fx
•Bloom.fx
•Clarity.fx
•Levels.fx
•Tonemap.fx
•Then click Ok and exit the reshade setup
5)Launch the game and press
shift + F2
6)You will be greeted by red boxes and a tutorial, You may read the instructions if you so wish and proceed through it by clicking continue
7)Locate Home Tab on your menu, click the drop down arrow and select
"SweetFX_Settings_Starbound_Fantasy.txt"
8)Finally proceed to settings tab and add
Shift + F12 on Effect Toggle key and set Usage Mode to
Performance Mode

If you are suffering from low frames from this reshade, you may uncheck
Bloom.fx and/or AdaptiveSharpen.fx

The link above is a small utility tool that will save the priority and affinity so you do not have to do it every time.
After Installing it you want to run your game and check task manager and set starbound.exe to high priority and should save when you start it up again.
