WHAT IS THIS?
I've released tons of ReShade presets, but this is my first preset for Nvidia's graphics modding tool, Freestyle. I've gone for a gritty, cinematic style with this preset that aims to both enhance the image clarity, correct the colors somewhat, and add depth-of-field that procs in the background and foreground (when you get close to camera, which is quite a cool, very cinematic camera focusing effect). You'll probably want to set your hotkeys in the GeForce "keyboard shortcuts" menu to something you can reach easily and quickly, so you can cut off the preset when you get the Nemesis introductions and perhaps in some menus. There is no toggle key by default.
While no where near as robust as ReShade, in its current offering Freestyle is still a very cool, reasonably complex graphics modding tool in its own right. I couldn't get ReShade to work with Middle Earth: Shadow of War, so I tried Freestyle instead and I have to say, after a considerable tinkering, I'm quite impressed at what Nvidia has done here. Can't wait to see how far I can push this.
The only shortcomings I can see at this early point in using the tool is that i can't add my defacto letterboxing or film grain. Also, lens dirt doesn't seem to be possible, but hopefully they keep expanding the tool's effects in the future. Still, those are small-fry complaints next to not having any graphics mods at all. I was actually going to refund the game when I couldn't get ReShade to work. Lol. This saved it.
Freestyle seems pretty cool so far, and it's static DoF capabilities are impressive. The DoF looks high quality throughout and is very impressive.
HOW TO INSTALL
Detailed installation instructions are in the download file.
Sidenote, if you don't want the character/objects that get really close to the camera to blur, set the "Near blur amount" to "0." This will also eliminate the need to cut off the preset when in menus or encountering enemy captains during their introduction sequences.
ps: I'm TheMercsAssassin on most other websites, including youtube, twitter and the nexus.
ps+: Do not use any part of my ReShade in your own work. Make your own through hard work and lots of time, like I did, please. Thanks.
