I like to use Levels and/Or Hdr to even out if it gets to dark.

Can be made crisp and clear yet not to dark. :)

Never really liked curve fx or any other that makes shadows dark.
It's not natural, during the day shadows aren't dark or black just light grey.
I always make my presets look little washed out with decent colors.

Add minor dof to make trees better. Tone down color (use skincolor as reference). DPx a little to raise atmosphere. Curves to make things stand more out. Clarity to clear image. Eventually Hdr and Liftgammagain to finish it. :)

you could also overlay it with a bit of tint, drop the reds a little more

but this still needs a lot of work. If you want a suggestion, drop down to tonemap, drop the gamma a bit and use tonemap 2 for this, give it some brigthness to compensate for the dropped gamma

See some of my presets, you might also add dxp and use sepia to clean it a bit
