Nights become darker and dynamic lighting ends up playing a bigger role! A downside to darker nights is that you may end up losing some detail on the environment (notice the trees here). This is fixed by adjusting your in-game gamma slider. However, some loss of detail at night is a trade-off if you want darker nights with dynamic lighting playing a bigger role.
