Preset description:
I. "You always seemed so sure that one day we'd be fighting in a suburban war, your part of town against mine. I saw you standing on the opposite shore. But by the time the first bombs fell, we were already bored." (Arcade Fire - The Suburbs) -- II. A deeply atmospheric graphical overhaul based on the newest "ReShade 3" engine, boasting carefully selected bandwidth of finely tuned shaders and crispier textures. This preset has been tailored specifically to the Remaster edition of Shenmue 1 and its various weather conditions. Ranging from 'Ambient Occlusion' to 'Depth of Field', 'Ambient Light', 'Eye Adaption', 'High Dynamic Range' and 'Adaptive Sharpen', The color palette "Days Gone By" strives for emergent glimpses of bitter-sweet melancholia while playing. - III. Preset by "Tim Schweizer". -- IV. Installation Instructions: 1. Grab your copy of ReShade: https://reshade.me/downloads/ReShade_Setup_3.4.1.exe 2. Run and install into the game directory. (Choose Direct3D 10+) 2.5 Download the bigger shader pack I am providing you on dropbox and copy/replace them with the existing ones. Rename the downloaded .TXT file to "Suburbia Tristesse.INI" and paste it where the game .EXE is located. 4. In the in-game ReShade menu (press Shift + F2), choose the "Suburbian Tristesse" preset in drop-down menu. 5. Head to the actual graphics settings of the "Shenmue" menu and amp your contrast up to at least 15 and Super-Sampling to 150 to 200. Keep FXAA on. -- V. Version History: V1.2. - Close range "Depth of Field" disabled due to distorted HUD. If that does not bother you: Enable "MatsDOF" in the in-game ReShade menu. The DoF focus (PC) can be guided by your mouse at all times. - Distant DoF with less HUD distortion added. Haven't try yet! But thank for that effect, that reminds me mostly original dreamcast coloring, and way more lighting effects.
